Comments: You had great speeches. I found your analysis about the harms of the debate very persuasive and well articulated. You made some good points - but I would take your inter-country conflict argument one step further and compare the potential harms of that to your opponent's harms. Maybe it causes war, or causes countries to leave the UN. Maybe it causes some type of retaliation. This would be more persuasive to me in this debate.

The decision is for the Proposition: Minseo Kang

    Reason for Decision:

Good debate. I ended up voting for the proposition because criminal justice reform would be ethically a good thing for the UN to do, even if there is backlash.

I thought that the impact analysis in the last speech was very good and proved that the harms of unfair justice standards outweighed the potential inter-country conflict.

The opposition made good arguments about the feasibility of the proposition, however the proposition gave adequate defense about how the plan wouldn't be a huge strain on resources and has potential benefits only if a few countries agree to it.

I think that if the inter-country conflict arguments were impacted out more then it would have been a much tougher decision.

    Good job everyone!
