Comments: You do an excellent job of responding to all your opponent's arguments, while carrying through your central ideas. You make clear and logical arguments that present your side well. You do use evidence, but it would be good to have a bit more or more direct quotation from your sources. You do an excellent job of responding to all your opponent's arguments, while carrying through your central ideas. You make clear and logical arguments that present your side well. You use evidence extremely well! You should make sure to address all your opponents' arguments.

The decision is for the Proposition: Allana Spears

    Reason for Decision:

This was a very close debate, and it took me a long time to make a decision. Both sides should be commended. In the end, I did not think that the opposition answered the argument that it is a human right issue that trumps other considerations. The proposition also presented sufficient evidence that refugees probably have a positive effect long-term on the economy.
