Comments: | You need to double check the links you submit in order to make sure you aren't posting a private video (major reason for low delivery skill). In your second speech you could speak with more voice inflections instead of talking in monotone. When citing your evidence you should give a date, title of the study, etc so that it becomes easier for sometime to find the sources you're citing. You also need to do a better job responding to your opponent... ie you don't ever respond to his free speech argument. I also agree with the opposition that a good amount of your speech seems to indicate that the games shouldn't get banned. | Try to use more voice inflections on key points instead of talking in monotone. Also you need to be citing sources to proves your side of the argument. I understand it's difficult if there isn't a video responding to. However, you could have generic sources ready to go in order to back up your point instead of just stating your opinions. Ie "escapist magazine" is not a great source per se. |
The decision is for the Opposition: Eun Suk Hong
Reason for Decision:
I vote for the opposition because the free speech argument isn't responded in the first available speech, even though it's addressed in the last speech. However, even in that last speech you weigh "everyone dying" versus freedom without extending evidence showing the likelihood of people dying as a result of this. You need to more directly extend the studies you cite initially. I am not convinced that a ban alone will solve the violence and I think that loss of freedom outweighs in this round because the final proposition while stating life must outweigh isn't warranted out fully.
