There are a few things what you could do better.

1st, if you could have explained that the prison is abolished, how the problems which you provided me in your speech can be solved, you could have more concrete case.

2nd, please remind this debate is about the purpose of criminal justice system. Social welfare and negative environment is also good point. But if you could have explained that why current prison system cannot prevent crime and abolishing prison can better fulfill the very purpose of CJS, it is another way to strengthen your case.

If you have any further questions, send message to me.

There are a few things what you could do better.

1st, please use your given time without spare time. Unless you use the all chance which was already given, no matter how your points were good, it is quite hard to make good arguments.

2nd, please provide deeper explanation compared to your previous speeches. It's your burden to convince me by providing enough reason and evidence to say your arguments are right and important in this debate.

The decision is for the Proposition: Kayla Chaffey

    Reason for Decision:

In this debate, both side provide good cases. The decisive factor of this debate was which side showed more effort to prove their case and response to their opponent's case.

Propostions' 'need for parental protection' and Opposition's 'removing bad influence from parent's to children' was both valid point. The main difference is, the level of explanation. Proposition speaker's explanation takes upper hand than the opposition's case in the terms of quality and quantity both.

In the case of negative environment about prison, proposition provide her own case, and opposition pointed out the possibility of error in proposition's 'abuse cases in prison'. Fair response. But where is the opposition's own case for positive aspect of prison? Even if you provide the case, the usage of time and level of explanation didn't enough to overcome proposition's descripion in this issue.

Because of these reasons, proposition speaker takes this debate. I encourage winning speaker do better in the future rounds, and I also encourage runner-up speaker do better in the future tournaments. Thank you very much for reading this decision.
