    Comments: Proposition Constructive

At the outset, I wouldn't lead a debate with "yo, what's up."

    1. Great Proposition - I was very impressed with your use of facts and explanation of what the debate was actually about! I wish I had viewed your video first - then I would've had a better idea about what these debates were about!!! Thank you! I also thought having a porn website on in the background was a nice touch! I'm surprised the opposition didn't use that in her favor!!!

    Proposition Rebuttal
    1. I agree - she spends more time rebutting instead of shoring up her own plan.

    Proposition Closing
Great job tying up the loose ends and reiterating your position.

    GREAT JOB.
    Opposition Constructive

    1. Your points were organized well.

    2. While I appreciate your critique on specificity, I fail to understand how you can expect him (or anyone) to outline the specifics of a plan in 5 minutes.

    3. I was confused on your counter plan and your opposition to the regulation of internet on the fundamental issues.

    4. You should have used the fact that Jesse had a porn website on in the background to further your argument!!!

    Opposition Rebuttal and Closing

You did a better job in making your points.

The decision is for the Proposition: Jesse Tolentino

    Reason for Decision:

I voted for Jesse because his presentation was better, he was easier to understand, his points were more compelling and cohesive (as presented), and his delivery was spot on.

Ultimately, I fail to understand why the opposition did not oppose internet regulation on more fundamental grounds, i.e. personal autonomy, less government interference, ineffectiveness of regulations, etc. Instead, to quote Jesse in his closing "What started as a debate over the regulation of internet pornography, has apparently turned into an argument about funding." For those reasons, I voted for the Proposition.
