Comments: Awesome job! You have a smooth and forceful delivery that is very convincing. Good work! You are polite but still provide great arguments.

The decision is for the Proposition: Nicholas Holmes

    Reason for Decision:

Both sides did a great job! Had the resolution been about policy, I would have been very persuaded by Nicole's arguments. However, as Nicholas pointed out and continued to affirm, the resolution was about whether or not an ethical commitment should be made to use international law to protect extraterrestrial microbial life. This does not imply spending money or pursing a scientific program at the expense of other policy options- such as programs to combat poverty. I also found Nicholas's evidence to be more geared towards potential microbial life in space and therefore more germane to the debate.
