Comments: Your link turn argument would have been far more persuasive if you didn't characterize your definitions of love and micropolitics in relation to humanity. Extraterrestrials in this debate are "bodies floating in time and space such as you and me friends family members loved ones or even people you don't even know" or Microbial Life which "Refers to the micropoltiical or the everyday interpersonal relations we as people have with others through things like talking, storytelling teaching, etc." It makes it very difficult for me to give this to you, so stop playing bad defense and focus much more time on developing why interhuman love is critical to other forms of love and explain why critiquing human/non-human binary wouldn't solve anti-blackness rather than a generic "shifts the focus" argument without an impact Jacqueline I think you do well in this debate but you need to not focus so much time on these nonsensical theory arguments and just spend more time on the meat of the arguments. Develop your link debate better- don't just say "your definitions are good" but critique how he takes things like bodies floating in space for example and only applies it to humanity. Extraterrestrials in this debate are "bodies floating in time and space such as you and me friends family members loved ones or even people you don't even know" or Microbial Life which "Refers to the micropoltiical or the everyday interpersonal relations we as people have with others through things like talking, storytelling teaching, etc." Don't focus love as being untenable due to sociopathy and focus on the concept of love as relying on information transmission and sociality that is uniquely speciesist and violent. That kind of stuff is ripe for analysis and should be jumped on.

The decision is for the Opposition: Jacqueline Haugen

    Reason for Decision:

I vote negative. i think they win a link argument due to the characterization of the affirmative through their definitions, I find the link turn and permutation unpersuasive due to the link argument's contextualization of the aff as interpersonal love which is parasitic in form and content to non-human life. Also no contestation of the root cause or risk of a large impact makes it compelling for me to vote negative.
