Comments: You did a great job addressing the more ethical side of this debate. The issue you brought up about human exploitation was a powerful one, and definitely weighed heavily on my decision in this round.

You also did a great job responding to most of your opponent's arguments. While there were definitely some that were left untouched, I felt that you chose to focus on the most important issues in the debate.

    Great job!

You did a great job in your first speech putting your arguments out there on why you believed that this resolution should be negated.

However, you didn't even use half of your time allotted for your second speech, and left many of your opponents arguments unanswered.

You should always use the amount of time you're given. If you have nothing left to say about your opponent's case, then you should absolutely go back over your own points and further explain them.

Other than that, you did a great job!

The decision is for the Proposition: Bailey Thomas

    Reason for Decision:

My decision for the debate came down to the fact that the proposition side did a better job addressing the ethical portion of this debate. While the opposition provided many examples on why space exploration is important and why microbes don't need to be protected, I felt that the proposition actually weighed the arguments in the round, which led to my decision.

Great job to both debaters! Good luck in the future http://speechdebate.binghamton.edu/images/smilies/biggrin.gif
